Accutane Acne Returns

How do I get rid of acne redness?

I'm 33, and I've always had a problem with acne. My face is completely clear, but my issue is my back. It's not so much acne as it is the redness from where the acne was. I've tried the following:

- I was on Accutane 4 times. Didn't work.
- I tried Vitamin E, but it's hard to apply when it's on my back
- I've cut out dairy
- I've had peels done.. they seem to work the best, but the redness returned.

What can I do? And remember, it's for my back, not my face.

The redness will naturally go away in say 6 weeks, 3 months + depends how bad the scarring is. The skin tissue below the surface of the skin needs to heal- this part is aggravated with acne. So nothing you really do will get rid of the redness, as we are dealing with skin tissue below the surface of the skin. Sometimes gycolic acid in md formulations will help the skin tissue replenish faster, it depends how deep below the surface it is.
If you are prepared to pay the money, you can get laser treatment from a DR who specialises in dermatology. It costs about 300 per session and you may need 1-3 sessions. Laser gets to the skin tissue below the surface of the skin and heals it. It is the quickest way to get rid of it. You have to weigh up the benefits and costs of doing this, as it might be worth just waiting until it naturally heals, if it is not bothering you that much. it is on your back- you probably notice more than other ppl.

dreaded accutane and acne

Accutane question, please please answer!?

I've tried EVERYTHING for my acne. All kinds of dermatlogist creams, cleansers, antibiotics. Proactive, acnefree, bla bla blaaa! The last time I went to the derm (prolly a month ago), I explained to her that NOTHING was working for me. She said, "well have you thought about trying accutane?" I said, no way! soo many side effects! so i left the dermatologist and havn't returned since. now, a month later, my acne is the worst its ever been. i'm thinking of going on accutane. if i start this month, do you think my acne would be gone by august? what was your experience with accutane? i need help!
whoopps forgot to add this to my question. i'm a girl, btw, so i heard you have to take 2 diff. forms of birth control. so if ur a girl, did u gain weight because of the birth control? and if so, was it alot or a little amount? and my acne is definetly interfering with my life. i can't even stand looking at myself in the mirror without geting teary eyed...

I've been on Accutane since November and by January I was completely cleared up. It varies for people but you should be clear in August. As far as side affects, if i dont take it on a full stomach i will get a headache, i have dry skin and lips but that happens to everyone and its not bad if you stay up with the lotion and the chapstick. i used to have bad pain in my neck and back but i have a physically demanding job so i bet it wouldnt of been as bad if i didn't have the job i have. get on accutane before it scars.
