Acne Bacterial Infection

Does doxycycline hyclate really help acne and if so how long does it take to get rid of it?
I'm a 22 yr old male and have been suffering against moderate and sometimes even severe acne for a couple of years now(hasn't been this bad since puberty)...anyway my doctor gave me a prescription of doxycycline hyclate with 2 refills and tertinoin cream 0.1%. I know the doxycycline hyclate supposed to help bacterial infections. I have been using these prescriptions for about a month and the first couple of days I saw results but my acne continues to break out. Do these prescriptions really work and if so how long do they take. I know there are other stronger acne medications available. I really would like to stay away from accutane if at all possible. I am trying to get the acne to disappear for good at least with minimum breakouts.
I had great results taking doxycycline, but they only lasted for about 5-6 months because my body became immune to the antibiotic.

On my face are these weird bumps...?
On my temples (both sides) and my right cheekbone, there are these weird little bumps. You can't see them, but when I run my fingers across them they are definitely there. I have no idea what they are from and have tried scrubs and acne cream, leaving them alone for a few days, and I also put Neosporin on it for one day in case it was a bacterial infection. I use a Neutrogena blackhead and acne scrub and a Clinique lotion ("Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion"). Does anyone know what these bumps are, what they are caused by, how I can get rid of them and how to prevent them from coming again?
You need to see a dermatologist and he can tell you what it is and how to get rid of them. It may be something really simple to clear up when it is diagnosed by a dermatologist. Mine has done wonders for me.
