Acne Face Moisturizer What are some good acne face wipes? And moisturizer w/ sunscreen?
I'm going to be camping up at horse shows this summer, and I don't have access to hot water, and I don't want to wash with cold water. So I need some good acne wipes that work and don't dry skin out. And don't say Proactiv, cause it doesn't work for me. Also, I need a acne moisturizer that has SPF 15 or 30 in it, and works well.
Thanks!
hey i probably should've mentioned this but I don't want to use medication sorry
A good moisturizer with SPF 15 is olay complete (if you have sensitive skin just use olay complete for sensitive skin) for wipes Olay also has great daily facial wipes!
Simply put, hydrating products are a combination of ingredients that help in water retention in the epidermis which stops the destruction of the skin cells. But a modern face moisturizer does much more than that. Whether the cream defends the skin against environmental damagedepends on the items such as emollients, humectants and fragrances added to it. Many skin care formulations claim to do all of the above.
The first step to picking the right moisturizer for your face is finding out what goes into the moisturizer. There is practically a millionof face moisturizers available at this point in time and it can be very confusing to buy one , a little bit of rudimentary information will significantly help you to pick the perfect items.
Emollients help in nourishing the cells reducing the space between them. By making up for the lost lipids they nourish and lubricate rough skin. Oil and water based emollients are offered although majority of the creams available today are water based. Moisturizers with oil as the main product are long lasting but they give the skin an oily look. The most widely used emollients are lanolin, petrolatum and mineral oil.
Humectants behave like water magnets absorbing the water from the air and using it to hydrate the skin. Softening rough and damaged skin is what humectants are most useful for. The most common substances used as humectants arealpha hydroxy acids, glycerine and urea.
Fragrances are included to cover less than pleasing odor of some of the other substances used. Fragrances are also used to incorporate the advantages of aroma therapy. It is perfumes that are the primary cause of most skin irritations experienced after using new lotions.
Another important in skin care products today are the preservatives. Preservatives are needed to stop bacterial contamination after the first use of a water or oil based product. Usually more than one preservative is is used. Preservatives are also responsible for some of the negative reactions.
Most creams and lotions also have in them other ingredients like vitamins, sun blocks, minerals and many other substances. Claims are made concerning many results that have not been scientifically proven. The Food and Drug Administration is considerably lax with cosmetic products as compared to consumable products and medicine.
Pick your moisturizer based on your skin quality, age and particular skin issues. Picking the most costly moisturizer on the shelves will not solve the purpose, expensive doesn’t always equate to something that works. You may not be successful with all the products so try several brands in small quantities.
Skin can be categorized into 5 different types. Normal skin does not have Dry or oily patches. For people with normal skin a light weight water based moisturizer is the most appropriate. Ingredients to look for are cetyl alcohol or cyclomethicone. If you have a dry skin an oil based cream with hydrate your skin. Urea and Propylene glycol are the general substances in oil based creams. Products suitable for greasy skin will be water based and will be labeled as “noncomedogenic” These products prevent pore blockage and minimize acne. Delicate skin moisturizers are artificial color and fragrance free. Mature skin needs oil-based petrolatum rich moisturizers that contain lactic acid or alpha hydroxy acids.
