My face got really dry from an acne treatment?


I got a new acne treatment and after just three days of using it my face is now extremely dry. i stopped using it but It hurts to put on moisturizer because my face is so dry and cracked. And my whole face feels chapped. I was just curious how long it will take for my skin to get back to normal...and if anyone knows what i can do to speed up the process.

You don't say what the acne treatment is, but many acne treatments cause dry, red, flaky skin. This does not necessarily mean you should stop the treatment as sometimes skin needs to 'harden' to the treatment and most times skin gets worse before it gets better. Perhaps you should see your doctor or dermatologist to discuss treatment options and what to expect when using them? They could also advise a regime to combat the dryness while you are using the treatment. A great book about acne is Breaking Out by Lydia Preston.
