I just got Benzoyl peroxide treatment for acne. How long should the 'better before worse' acne last for?
I went to the docters for treatment for acne on my face. he prescribed Pan Oxyl Benzoyl Peroxide, but my acne seems to be getting worse before better. Does any one know how long this "better before worse" phase will/should last for?
youre skin is getting used to this new treatment therfore making it worse for a while... its hard to tell when this phase will pass because we all have different skin types and we all react to things differently.. but hopfully it will wear off soon..

WHAT IS ACNE FREE IN 3 DAY ALL ABOUT?
Acne Free in 3 Days is based on reasearch by Chris Gibson, a former chronic acne sufferer. The authors says he was a severe chronic acne sufferer and that he has tried almost every prescription and non-prescription remedy to try to treat it. The basic idea in the book is to try to treat acne at its source by going through a 3 day "detox' program where you are instructed to eat very specific foods. His method is to try to deal with acne from the inside out, unlike regular creams etc that can only treat the skin surface.
DOES IT WORK?
There is alot of good information in the book about the various causes of acne and what kinds of things you should avoid to help prevent it (specfic face products, foods, drinks, etc.)
The core of the system is the 3-day detox diet. If you follow it EXACTLY, there is a very good chance that your acne will significantly improve or even completely clear up.
Ofcousre, it will not be exactly 3 days for all users - that part just makes for a catchy book title. It is possible that some people may have their acne cleared up in 3 days. Most people will probably have to wait 4-5 days and some may have to wait up to a week.
The important thing is that you have to be very disciplined in sticking to the program for the 3 day for detox. The more you let yourself "cheat" and go back to your regular diet during the 3 day detox, the less likely it is that the program will work.
IS IT THE BEST SOLUTION FOR EVERY ONE?
If you have just mild acne, this program is not for you. Mild acne does not need to treated in this way. In that case you need to just let it be or use mild over-the-counter products. This is a serious program, requiring discipline, for people who have moderate or severe acne, who have tried "traditional" therapies.
