Acne Milk Thistle

Any vegans with acne?

Can all my beloved Vegans out there help a fellow vegan out with acne advice? I have acne on my cheeks and it's driving me insane...is it ok to go to the Doctor and get antibiotics, or should I focus on milk thistle for my liver maybe? It's trying to die down, but it's still "there". I even cut down on my sugar (a lot) which I think helped a bit.

I'm a vegetarian, but I was a vegan for about a year. I have acne now, and did then too, and I honestly have no solution of how to get rid of it. I've tried everything from Proactiv (which sucks!!) to the bluelight treatment at my doctors, and nothing works.

Milk Thistle Silymarin—Discover Its Amazing Health Benefits

Let's face it, any herb like milk thistle silymarin that gets this much attention must really have something! The many different health benefits are well documented, but many more lie just around the corner.

Silymarin is the active ingredient in milk thistle that is responsible for most of the health benefits and its medicinal uses date back to Roman times. In fact it is the most studied and best understood of all the herbs.

Milk thistle silymarin is primarily known for its main quality of liver protector, helping it to eliminate toxins, drugs and poisons. This makes it especially good for treating alcohol related problems as it can also help to generate new liver cells.

It is, however, a potent antioxidant too, helping to fight the effects of aging and preventing disease. This gives a big boost to your immune system, helping you to fight off those annoying colds and viruses which we all seem to suffer more from these days.

It can help in the treatment of gallstones and is also great for the skin and such ailments as acne and psoriasis. New research is showing how it may help in the fight against skin cancer too, with very promising results coming from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

We still have a lot to see from milk thistle silymarin, and if you want to include it in your daily diet, experts agree to take it in a high quality nutritional supplement, as I do, where you can benefit from all the other ingredients and increased absorption rates, making high doses unnecessary.

When choosing, make sure that it contains at least 85% standardized milk thistle silymarin extract to gain the most benefits, as any less and you won't feel the full impact that this wonder herb has to offer.
