Acne Problem
I have a small acne problem on my forehead?
I am 13 and I just broke out recently with a small like patch of acne? Can anyone help me undestand this better? And any solutions for it? Also I am really active and play sports and have medium length hair that is on my forehead for like most of the day... Any help is great!

This answer is to offer you some overall acne tips you may haven't considered ..though they may sound pretty basic... Also there is a acne article sight that covers about every question you could have about acne.. http://acnearticles.ogabb.com ...I hope it helps you.
What agravates acne?
1- Oily hair.. so stay away from oily hair products like pomades, hairsprays and keep your hair off your forehead & face, keepit pulled back or have a short hair style, maybe
put it in a hair net at night as it will keep it off of your skin.
2- Skin cosmentics and suntan lotions.. so use types that do not clog pores .. like noncomedogenic (google it)
3- Skin moisterizers on acne prone skin ..if you do feel you need to .. make sure it is not acnegenic.
4- Washing your skin with hot water and harsh cleansers that can can further irritate your skin. ..Wash the skin gently with a mild soap or cleanser and warm (not hot) water
once or twice daily.
5- Scrubbing your skin to get rid of acne, this can actually make your acne worse and promote scarring by increasing inflammation or rupturing cysts under your skin, making
bacteria spread.
6- Picking your pimples or blackheads.. this can leave permanent scars. If you feel you just have to get that head out that is ready to burst.. go gently & immediately apply a
topical antibiotic to help stave off infection.
7-Stressing out. Stress can cause acne break outs, and herpie outbreaks as well. Quit worrying over the outward appearance of acne .. it doesn't make you a bad person.. real
beauty in a lot deaper than the skin.
8- Not getting enough sleep can cause stress as well so get to bed and those 8 hours in .. an nap when you feel like.
9- Poor nutrition ...everyone knows that more fruits and vegetables in your diet is more healthy.. a healthy body will heal itself. Start drinking a lot more water .. and cut
out those pops.
10- No exersise.. exersising everyday can also make you healthier and rejevenate the skin by the increased oxegen from the increased blood flow.. it will make you stronger and
healthier when combined with a nutritious diet.
11- Hot humid environments.. like poorly ventilated gyms and kitchens.. the cooking grease your exposed to can add to pore clogging...
12-Working out bacteria.. from equipment and sweat.. bring a long some pre-wetted alcohol towlelettes to gently wipe the sweat from your face .. back .. hands.. chest .. a long
the work out lines ..to tight fitting work out clothes that trap moisture can cause bumps on your chest or back. .so wear lose fitting cotton attire.. in fact wearing lose
fitting breathable attire always is beneficial when combating acne..
13- Dirty make up and make up brushes.. throw out old contaminated make up and wash your brushes regularly in soapy water ..

Believing Myths Can Make Acne Problems Worse
When it comes to medical conditions that have a whirlwind of myths surrounding them, the only thing that might just top the common cold is acne. . Greasy foods cause acne. There`s no known link here to suggest this one is true. However, for overall health, it`s not a good idea to indulge in high fat, greasy foods on a regular basis. If a diet is rich in these foods, it could create other health issues that might be prompting the acne problems. The trick here is to say yes to the occasional order of French fries, but say no to eating dripping, greasy foods all the time.
. Washing. A lot of people believe their acne problems are caused by a lack of cleanliness. Inasmuch, they begin an incessant routine of scrubbing to make those pimples go away. Don`t! The truth is washing should only be done about two times a day, unless something crops up that deems a third or fourth cleansing. Washing, too, should only be done using mild cleansers and scrubbing shouldn`t go along with it. When acne prone skin is scrubbed, the outcome can be bad. First off, it irritates the skin, which can lead to more breakouts. Secondly, scrubbing can actually pop existing pimples and lead to permanent scars.
. Chocolates. Just like grease, chocolates don`t cause acne problems. Do avoid over eating sweets for overall better health, but saying no all the time in fear of a breakout isn`t necessary.
. Natural light. This is not the cure for acne problems. While many think so because of the sun`s ability to make acne look better at first, the fact is the drying and burning can irritate the skin and lead to more breakouts that might be even worse than the original one.

Well, let's see….
I'd try this:
Don't use any bar soap because that will clog your pores and aggravate the acne.
Then, I'd use an 8% Alpha hydroxy acid (glycolic acid) once a day. Neutrogena makes one that also has SPF 15. This will help get rid of the sun damage, make the lines and wrinkles appear smoother, and allow your moisturizer to penetrate your skin better. It won't solve the acne or large pores, but because it's going to help get rid of the other three, I'd try it first.
