has anyone tried that "skin id" acne treatment? if not, what's a good acne kit?
it sounds good to me... personalized acne treatment. i've got semi bad acne, always been very irritated by it. for christmas a pal has agreed to get me an acne kit to help me feel relieved and prettier, and i'm interested in the skin id by neutrogena. i was just wondering if anyone could tell me about personal experiences with this acne kit, or any other like proactiv or whatever. suggestions? i don't have sensitive or dry skin so that's not the issue. i just want something that really gets rid of the annoying red bumps
I know this probably isn't what you want to hear (I know I didn't want to!) but, if it's under the skin, it's probably hormonal. My acne was probably 98% hormones and I had to go to the dermatologist and get pills. Have you talked to a dermatologist? If not, you should!
But, for the few topical problems, I have found that Nature's Cure Acne Kit works great for me! I buy it at Rite Aid for $20, and it has 3 parts kinda like Proactiv- the cleanser, the toner, and the moisturizer.
Everyone's skin is different, so you never know what works until you try it! Good luck!

Acne Treatment - Is A Gel Your Acne Solution ?
Acne is one of the most commonly faced problems by teenagers as well as adults. If not treated it may result in emotional as well as physical scarring. Daily use of gels, reduce open pores and hence reduce the chances dirt and oil from getting clogged in them, effectively reducing acne.
Gels that treat adult acne contain ingredients such as sulfur, salicylic acid, tea tree oil, benzoyl peroxide, Vitamin E, aloe vera, zinc etc. People with acne should avoid products that contain lanolin and oil as these will aggravate the acne. Gels with natural products such as aloe vera are more popular among people who prefer herbal products. Aloe Vera is used in many cosmetic products as it is a safe ingredient. Aloe gels provide a mask against pollution and dust and help the skin to protect. It also helps to reduce old scars, and known for its calming effects for people with irritated and inflammed skin.
Gels are of course not the only acne treatments, and it happens that some people don't tolerate them, or just don't like using them. For people with dry skin, if gels are not a solution for you, don't worry. There are many acne treatment kits made for dry skin that include lotions and moisturizing cream, that will give your complexion a brighter look, and a softer touch.
