For most people, acne ends with puberty. Unfortunately, this is not the case for all. Especially for women. For a lot of women, puberty is just a trigger; a catapult if you like throwing them into a life-long fight with acne. For a lot women acne is a life long nemesis. A study has shown, that women who suffer from acne in their twenties have a 30% chance of having to endure this disease for the next 20 years or so. Some women even have break-outs in their seventies and eighties. Another statistic to chew on is that 60% of all acne cure products sold over the counter are sold to adults.
How can this be? Surely with all the adult acne cure products on the market today, Acne should all but be eradicated by now; especially in adults. So why haven't we a found a way to get rid of acne in adults yet?
The sheer amount of acne products on the market today is a large contributor. A lot of people will try something new, or the next big solution to their problems, not immediately see any results and jump on to the next big miracle treatment. A more rational approach to treating acne is by taking it for what it is for; a ultra complex multifactorial disease that can not be defeated by simply applying a lotion or swallowing a herbal supplement. Even dermatologists will admit that they don't fully understand the nature of acne a lot of times and are often left with no other option but to prescribe some kind of conventional medication and hope for the best.
If you are serious about finding an adult acne cure, the most important thing is to educate yourself. It is your skin, so get educated. The more you understand acne, the more effectively you will be able to treat it. Don't rely one acne care product or take your dermatologist by his word, find out for yourself. In this day and age, educating yourself on any subject is so much easier than in the past.
