Why am I suddenly getting acne?


I'm a 19-year-old girl, and this summer I suddenly got severe acne from my temples to my jawline. I never had bad acne before, and I don't know what I have changed in my diet/lifestyle to trigger this. I never had acne in that area before.

It might be a genetic thing. When my little brother was 16 he suddenly got terrible acne all over his face, but mostly in the cheek area like me. My aunt got adult acne suddenly when she was 20, but she got rid of it.

I'm not so interested in knowing how to get rid of individual pimples. I want to know how to go back to not having my cheeks be an acne-prone area. I suppose I could take roaccutane, but I want something less drastic.

It could be a variety of reasons; Hormones, Change in diet, change in your facial routine, build-up of bacteria on your makeup sponges, brushes, applicators are just to name a few. Keep your skin clean by using a daily cleanser, and hands off! or if you think it is much serious than that, visit a dermatologist, if you can't afford one then go to a department store that carries products for acne treatment and ask questions until you are red in the face! Although acne is said to be rare to the adults, this is not always the case.
