After Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion. A question for anyone who has had it done - after?
I know what it is, etc etc, but I am interested in the after results, especially it made skin go dry.
I have been doing some research (only online though) and I have seen a few comments saying that it at first their skin was amazing, then it became dry, they broke out etc etc
What was your experience like?

P.s. I am not looking for opinions on whether I should or should not have it done, that is for me to decide, I am just looking into opinions.
It's a procedure of diminishing results. That means when it's first done you get amazing results, but any subsequent treatments you get less amazing results. It's great if you have scars, pits, and bumpy skin from acne or other skin problems and your skin will be smoother and softer. It will resurface the skin and reveal fresh, rejuvenated skin. Yes, you do get dry skin flaking off, that's part of the procedure's purpose. After-care is very important. You need to protect your skin from the sun and wear a broad spectrum UVA and UVB protecting sunscreen/ moisturizer whenever you go outside, whether it is sunny or cloudy. You must use very gentle non-irritating cleansers, and 100% alcohol free toners, moisturizers and serums after. Your skin will go from whatever it was before to "sensitive" Make-up must be free of irritants too, so no harsh foundations or powders with mica or bismuth oxychloride (anything that sparkles). After the procedure your skin is very sensitive for 6 to 8 weeks. It's possible that the people who had problems didn't follow the proper after care program or used something that their skin reacted to.
Subsequent treatments don't give as dramatic results. After several you won't even notice any difference any more. But the first treatment will do wonders for the skin's surface texture, if you have scars they will look ten times better and your face will feel smoother.
