I have a 2290 SAT score
my 9-10-11 gpa is 3.6
my 10 -11 gpa is 3.77 unweighted and 4.09 weighted
i have done many service projects and hold some non school leadership positions and i am activ in boy scouts. (getting my eagle)
i also have a leadership position in the club i founded
i have 200 volunteer hours
i also did debate
won awards in numerous science fairs
what is a good place to apply if i want to get into the preMED bio or Business, or engineering school.
what are my chances at UCLA
The University of California system is a weird one. Most, if not all of them, could easily become Ivy League schools if they wanted to go the private-route and I can fully understand why they don't.
Back to the question at hand, it might be difficult to get in there even if you had a GPA higher than a 4.0 and a amazing ECs, or it could be incredibly easy. They get a large applicant pool every year and can have their pick. What you should do is find out the average GPA and test scores of admitted students and get in contact with a financial aid advisor and ask what your chances are. Even if it's not the answer you want, apply anyway. If you do it early enough, it'll be free so it's not like you're losing something even if you don't get in. Just make sure you have a really good essay and you're ready to deal with USC students (I hear the rivalry is intense).
And out of curiousity, why that school? I always thought of it as more of a media-oriented school because some of the big names in Hollywood go there, which probably has more to do with the location than anything else. So, nevermind that part. Long story short? APPLY! If you get in, great! If you don't? With your grades, you won't be hurtin' for acceptance letters.
