me derm prescribed me retin a micro HELP!!!?
sooo my doctor prescribed me retin a micro gel 0.04% once a day at night after i wash my face. Then twice a day i am supposed to use the clindomycin lotion. At dinner time i am taking 100mlgrms doxycyclin. he said no lotions at all? so does this mean no sunscreen? i have been washing my face with the proactiv cleanser and my derm said this is fine? i have been doing this since the 25th my face is red, pealing, and burns a bit. I am female 20 years old and have never had acne just really tiny bumps on my chin and around my nose and a little occasionally on my cheeks which my derm says are blacksheads. They aren't very noticable just to me. So what should i expect out of all this? is it going to work? is all this to severe? what kind of makeup should i use? any advice? how bad is it going to get? for how many weeeks? sooo confused.....thanks
I use Retin A Micro and clindomycin as well. I dont remember which one, but one of those (or maybe its both) will make you really sensitive to the sunlight so YES! I woud definatley wear sunscreen, but get a kind that wont clog your pores. I think Neutrogena has one. About the Proactive, I think thats what is making your skin so red. I used Proative and it was horrible for my skin. I had results similar to yours. I would say skip the Proactiv and go for a really gentle cleanser because your skin is already on three medications and it doesnt need more. Hope this helps.
