Cystic Acne Treatment
My acne treatment method questions.?
my treatment:
Morning:
Basis Face wash
Clindamycin gel to all effected areas
Aquaphor on extra dry patches(aka my best friend)
Minocycline 100mg (oral form, 1 pill)
Before bed:
Basis face wash
Differin XP .3% gel
Minocycline 100mg (oral form, 1 pill)
more aquaphor
I have moderate to severe non-cystic acne on my face and back. very very sensitive skin, flakes on occasion and gets very red when applying. (this side effect is letting up)
My questions are:
1. If you have been on Differin XP, did this medication help or remove red scarring?
2. If you or someone you know has been on any of these meds, were your/ your friends mouth very dry?
3. If you have very sensitive skin, while on any of these meds did you experience any peeling or severe redness?

1. I have and yes it does help. As for scarring removal I'm not sure, ask your Dermatologist.
2. Acne treatments followed correctly do tend to dry out your skin sadly. I've been in your shoes before. Aquaphor is an excellent choice for dry skin/lips though! Your friend gave great advice!
3. Yes very much. Mostly around my lips and the corners of my nose. I hated it but I had terrible skin so I did the same as you with Aquaphor and just endured the dry skin. My skin is super sensitive so I was always in your position!

White colored acne is formed on the surface of the skin. Blackheads are formed when the skin pore is partially blocked. The black color is not formed because of dirt.
It is because of the skin's pigment which is reacting with oxygen which is present in air. Papules are red bumps. It is not advised to press papules which will spread it more.
Pustules are similar to whitehead but they are red in color with white or yellow in the center. Antibacterial Cleanser is suitable for most skin types and can be used in regular intervals to keep skin clean and to prevent from acne.
A new procedure called photodynamic acne treatment can be used to cure acne. Levulan is an acid solution which is found in human body which can be used for curing acne. It is better to target the sebaceous glands and killing them to make your skin normal and free from acne.
Cystic acne treatments have to be followed by a person for quite sometime. There is no immediate cure for these types of acne. Cysts acne are nothing but bacteria which generally spreads across the skin. Pricking, touching and squeezing cystic acne should be avoided.
