The Most Effective Age Spot Lotions

I was enraged after reading about this! Most of the age spot lotions on the market contain hydroquinone, despite the fact that the ingredient has been banned in France and other countries, due to a possible cancer risk. Hydroquinone should have been banned by all countries, because it can cause an adverse reaction that is difficult to treat.

People using creams containing it have seen the appearance of black bumps on areas where it was applied. There is no way to "patch test" for this reaction. So, anyone that uses it is taking their chances.

Why do companies continue to produce age spot lotions that contain hydroquinone, when they now all of the risks that are associated with its use? They continue to produce the ingredient, because it is effective for inhibiting melanin production.

Melanin is a pigment produced by specialized cells in the skin's dermal layer. Production is stimulated by UV rays form the sun and sometimes by hormonal activity. It is actually the skin's natural protection from sunburn and other UV damage. But, sometimes it "clumps". These clumps are often referred to as age spots, although sun spots, would be a more accurate term.

To prevent them, you can do the same things that you should do to prevent skin cancer. Wear protective clothing and use a sun-block containing zinc oxide on areas that are difficult to protect. You can also use a cream containing vitamin E. Although the method of action is not known, vitamin E helps prevent the appearance of these heavily pigmented areas. It likely has to do with the vitamin's antioxidant activity.

To fade them, there are several effective ingredients. One has been shown to inhibit melanin production as effectively as hydroquinone, without any risk of adverse reaction. The compound contains an extract from the cyperus rotundus root. The manufacturers were not looking to make age spot lotions. They were developing and "anti-irritant" for relief of itch, redness, rashes and other symptoms caused by exposure to toxins, allergens or irritants.

It was only during testing that they learned about the lightening effect that the cream had. Later, they tested the compound for melanin inhibition and found that a .5% concentration inhibited melanin production by over 40%. EXTRAPONE is the proprietary name for the compound.

If you are looking for age spot lotions, you might also be interested in wrinkle reduction or increased firmness. EXTRAPONE won't address those issues, but other ingredients will.

Coenzyme Q10 has been shown to reduce wrinkles, repair sun damage and soften. Bioactive keratin has been shown to increase firmness, stimulate skin cell production, improve moisture content and reduce inflammation. Avocado oil has been shown to increase the amount of collagen present in the skin. Shea butter is known to fade wrinkles, stretch marks, scars, brown spots and more.

Make no mistake about it. You may not be able to find all of these ingredients in a single product. But, if want the safest and most effective age spot lotions, you should try to find one that contains as many of them as possible.
