Dirty Pillow Acne

How can I notice when a pillow is dirty?


I have some acne and people say that dirty pillows cause acne, and that you should change it once a week, But how once a week like get another pillow?

And I leep on the same pillow for months but to me it doesn't look dirty, But is IT?
If so how can I wash it?

There is a lot of misinformation out there that is put out with the intention of getting you to buy more pillows and more mattresses. Get a good hypoallergenic pillow case and wash it in your regular pillowcase regularly and that is all you need to do. I doubt it is contributing that much to your acne though.

Keep your face clean keep your hands away from your face. Use 91% isopropyl alcohol after you shave especially in a couple of other times during the day. When you get a pimple rub some Neosporin cream on it as soon as you notice it. Do this several times a day too and make sure you use the cream and not the ointment. I think shaving with a manual razor is better than using an electric razor. Keep them both very clean whichever you decide to use and put some alcohol on your face and the razor if you're using the electric razor every time you use it.

How do I treat scalp acne?


I am losing my hair so I like to keep it short with clippers or I shave it with a razor. Unfortunately I get acne on my scalp, so I have to leave my hair longer than I would like to cover up the acne. I do get the occasional pimple on my face but I can live with that. Cetaphil works quite well on my face, but not so much on my head. I change my pillow case every second day as I read that a dirty pillow case can make acne worse. I read that using a dandruff shampoo can help with scalp acne, but will it still work if I have very short hair? Are there any other solutions? The only absolute method I know would be to take Accutane, which I've taken before, but I'd like to try some other things first since the side effects of Accutane were harsh.
For a few weeks, I tried not washing my scalp with shampoo, soap, face wash etc... but that didn't help with the acne.

There is something you can buy at walmart or walgreens or and some other places. It is called acne wash and it is orange. it is just like a normal face wash but it also is safe to put in your hair to get rid of pimples.
