Dudu Osun Black Soap Acne
Anyone used black soap and it made their face red?
I am using dudu osun black african soap and its clearing up my acne but at the same time making my skin really red (I am white UK decent). Has anyone else had this problem? Or does anyone know why this is?
I use it faithfully from head to toe. Sometimes I have to use it on my face every OTHER day although it's natural and I love it... it can be a little harsh on the skin. Just stop for a day or two and use a gentle cleanser like cetaphil. The soap has lye produced from the ashes of plantain leaves and bark, which can irritate if you use it too often on sensitive parts. It's very good for acne and naturally exfoliates, your skin is turning over cells to make way for new vibrant, pretty, smooth skin but they need to rest so use it every other day instead of everyday. I can say this FOR SURE, I will have a spot left from a blemish and I will literally rub it away after a couple of days of using the soap and its like nothing was ever there. Also try the african black soap thats pure, I like Dudu Osun but i think they add ingredients, the pure soap usually has no shape (unless the person you buy if from shapes it) and softer, looks like brown/ tan marble Hope this helps!!! has anyone tried black soap?
does it work for acne etc. if so which brand is better. i know of dudu osun but have heard there are different types including a ghanian version. does it help clear up acne and scars and whats the best way to use it? i have oily acne prone afrocaribbean skin. thanks
i'm not referring to coal tar soap but african black soap thats made from natural ingredients
Do you mean Coal Tar soap - if so yes, it's not black in colour more of a caramel colour but it has a kinda clinical smell. I am not sure about acne but it used to be recommended for people with psoriasis and eczema so I suppose it would not do any harm to try it. The brand that was recommended was "Wright's Coal Tar Soap"
