What's wrong with my hormones, What exactly are hormones?


I have stubborn acne - And I know for sure it's because of my hormones, I take good care of my face, there's still no way I can have acne, and I stopped being under stress.

What's wrong with my hormones, What exactly are hormones, how can I make my hormones go away, so I can stop having acne?

Here are some information, If you need it -
Female, Age 14 - sexually active, but haven't had sex in a year.
(yes, it was a mistake - don't say i'm to young and all that stuff)

Hormones are chemicals your body releases in response to what your body needs. For example, when you get scared, your body releases adrenaline so you can move faster.

There's nothing wrong with your hormones. They are helping your body develop into an adult. You can't make them go away - they are actually really important. From brain functions to hair growth, your body uses them every day.

The best thing for your skin is to take care of it. Wash and moisturize daily. Use a sunscreen to prevent premature aging. Proactive worked wonders for my acne. I know a lot of people don't like Proactive, but I think if you can find any cleanser with benzoyl peroxide in it it will work just as good as Proactive.

Your doctor may suggest birth control for your skin too. Since you're sexually active, it might not be a bad idea.

One more thing - when I started exercising, the acne really started to go away. I don't know why that is, but for some reason it really helped.

Acne in Females

Zinc deficiency is common in females to regular menstruation cycles. Your body possesses no reservoir for storing zinc. Therefore, zinc deficiency greatly cause to damaged hair follicles and badly affect the normal activity of sebaceous glands. Zinc intake and including it in your diet is necessary. Zinc is found abundantly in blackberries, pees, corn, sweet potato, pumpkin seeds and cashews. Zinc-Induced acne commonly develop after monthly periods.

Acne During Pregnancy:

Having acne during pregnancy is common that most women have to encounter. It is due to extreme hormonal fluctuation within the body. Pregnancy acne can not be eliminated rapidly as it may harm the fetus as any drug used for reduction may prove deadly for the growing and developing fetus. Accutane during pregnancy may produce severe birth defects.

Conclusion:

Though female acne is common, females are less prone as compare to male to develop acne in their normal state. Females usually have acne during or after menstrual cycles, pregnancy, breastfeeding and due to intake of birth control pills. Birth control pills are also used for treating acne, therefore, do consult your doctor before taking any action.
