What is the difference between laser hair removal and a fotofacial (photofacial) ?


Are they both safe for face and underarms.

Hair removal - obvious.
Fotofacial - cosmetic enhancement to rid skin of sun damage etc.

Has anyone ever had fotofacial?


I have mocha dark skin and several brown spots from acne. Will fotofacial help or just maybe regular microdermabrasion?

Fotofacial is indeed very effective in reducing spots and scars, but unfortunately it is not recommended for people with dark skin, because it might have adverse effects like hypo or hyper pigmentation. Microdermabrasion is the only non-surgical procedure perfectly safe for dark skinned people. The down side of this procedure is the fact that, being non-invasive, it can only remove superficial spots, scars and wrinkles. You will probably need 6-10 microdermabrasion sessions before seeing optimum results.
