Gold Cleansing
I'm going to throw all her stuff away!!!?
OK - somebody talk me down, because I'm really going to do it! I am going to throw away all my MIL's stuff that she has left at our house: the junky Salvation Army knicknacks and doilies, the mismatched bedsheets and bath towels, and especially the three pairs of metallic gold ballet slippers! She brings TONS of stuff to my house every time she visits, which is about once a month since she only lives 80 miles away. And I am sick of it.
I am the kind of person who hates clutter - very much a minimalist. She is coming here this weekend again, and I feel the need for cleansing.
What to do? I am about positive she will never miss the stuff, since she keeps bringing the same thing over and over (THREE pairs of gold slippers? Come on!). But in the event that she would ask about any of it, I am a dead duck.
Suggestions, advice, please?

I'm a minimalist and this would drive me mad. Yes, you must get rid of this stuff. But here's the trick: you don't do it all at once. Each time she visits, you remove a little more. Eventually, you'll be down to zero. Do not throw it away. Gather it all together and put it in a box in the garage or attic or wherever. I'm not at all clear why she is doing this. Are these gifts or is she deliberately seeding your house with her stuff prior to moving in permanently?
