Honey Acne Treatment

Honey for Spot Treatment?

I have heard from a lot of people that honey works very well for the treatment of acne spots.

Is this true? Have you tried honey? If so, how do you apply it? Should I cover it with a band-aid? How long should I leave it on?

How much will it help? Does it help prevent, or just diminish?

Any help with these questions would be greatly appreciated.

Honey is a natural antibacterial. You can use it of course, especially if it's handy around the house, but you can also use Neosporin or other similar antibiotic ointment.

You just dab the honey on your blemish straight, and keep it on overnight. Putting a bandaid on it helps keep the honey from smearing all over your face and pillowcase if you toss and turn. It's not a miracle, but it helps a bit. I wouldn't recommend using honey as a preventative treatment - the best preventative treatment is GOOD SKINCARE! Always wash your face throughly and make sure all dirt and sebum is cleared from your pores.

Using crushed uncoated aspirin also helps as an exfoliator, and salicylic acid (active ingredient in aspirin) is a known acne-fighter. Some people make honey and aspirin masks, mixing about 5 crushed aspirin with some honey, massaging into into their face for the exfoliation. Leave it on for half an hour, and rinse off.

Aspirin might not work for everyone - some people are allergic, and it might cause a skin reaction if you are.

Acne Treatments : Using Honey for Treating Acne

Home Made Acne Treatments - How To Get Rid of Acne Quickly And Easily

If you listen to the 'acne experts' you'll hear that the first thing you need to do in order to get rid of your acne is to get on a better diet and change your hygiene habits. Then they pitch their over-the-counter products, creams and lotions that supposedly bring immediate results for your acne. But the problem is that it is successful in "many cases", but not all cases. Many people who try the products, therefore experience side effects or even get allergic reactions. So it's better to try proven homemade acne treatments that work effectively and has a high success rate. They are cheaper and doesn't require a doctors prescription.

One popular method to treat acne at home is using cotton dipped in alcohol and use this on your face. The alcohol will help cleanse the pores, and kills a majority of the bacteria causing the infection. You do not want to use excess alcohol because it can yield in light or heavy skin irritation.

If you are somebody who has oily skin, a good homemade acne treatment is to use oatmeal masks on your face. The way you use this mask is by applying an oatmeal and water mix for 15-20 minutes twice per day to get the best results. What happens is that the oatmeal will dry up, thus absorbing the oil from the skin. When you remove the mask, make sure to rinse your face with cold water.

You might want to try another homemade acne treatment that is extremely successful. It involves using honey and apples. This method uses grated apple, which is then mixed together with 4 teaspoons of honey. The mixture you get from this, will be the paste you apply to your face, and keep it there for around 10 minutes. When the face mask has been on the face for 10 minutes, remove it and rinse with warm water. Do this two or three times per week for the most successful results.

Another successful acne treatment for oily skin is strangely enough, tomatoes. Simply mash tomatos and apply it to your oily skin for 10 mintes and wash it with water. To get the best and most successful results, keep using the acne treatment once every day.

Warning! If you have pimples, DO NOT pick them with your finger nails or poke them. If you do this, it will worsen the conditions. If your homemade acne treatments are not working, go with the next one, but make sure you are not picking your pimples. If you do, your inflammations can get worse, and produce nasty scars.
