Honey Almond scrub
how do you pamper yourself?
It wasn't until a year ago I realized how amazing it was to spend 10-15 minutes pampering yourself, especially when you are mom. .
I usually mix up a homemade body scrub of honey, salt, sugar and a little olive oil or almond oil. Depending on the time of year I always add a little essential oils to my mix and too my tub. With Spring in the air I have choosen honeysuckle. I use a seperate scrub on my feet the same mix except with pepperment oil. It's amazing what pepperment will do to your feet. I but a ton of plain old tea lights and add a drop of the oil to them, it gives off an amazing scent. A nice hot tub bath and then take some mommy time and read or watch a movie. I have taught my children from an early age sometimes mommies need mommy time and they respect that and let me be for a while. I try to do it about once a week but I usually do a full body and facial scrub daily in the shower.

I think I may try some of these this wknd.The bathtub is my single-most favorite place in the world when I get any "mommy time" lol!I light all my candles around my bathtub which is surrounded by mirrors & a skylight above me & turn off the lights & turn on my little radio & sometimes a little red wine & I seriously lose touch w/the rest of the outside world LOL!Have a beautiful day!

Homemade Honey Almond Sugar Scrub
Body Scrub
Body scrub is a great way to help your skin become healthier. The process of exfoliation is beneficial because it basically strips away your dead skin cells (consider the word exfoliate, foliage which is leaves, then ex them, or cut them away). You can make your own body scrub easily and inexpensively with simple household items and use them exactly like the body scrub you would use from the store.
Three essential components of your homemade body scrub are: exfoliators, carrier oils and essential oils.
A good body scrub recipe to try is mixing sea salt with olive oil. Allow this mixture to soak into your skin, massage the body scrub in and then rinse it away.
Another great recipe is combining eight cups of Kosher salt, two cups of avocado, a teaspoon of jojoba oil, one cup of apricot oil, one cup of unsweetened cocoa (you can use a fourth of a cup of freeze dried coffee crystals), and two tablespoons of vanilla extract honey to keep the texture of the body scrub smooth.
Another recipe for a body scrub is taking two teaspoons of brown sugar, two teaspoons ground oats, two teaspoons of aloe vera gel, one teaspoon of honey, one teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice and one teaspoon of almond oil. This will easily remove dead and flaky skin.
All of these recipes have the three components in common. They have a product that will strip away the dead skin cells. They all have a product that will replenish the skin with essential oils. Each recipe also has protective oils for the skin as well. Any of these recipes are effective.
Body scrubs are excellent for removing dead flaky skin. After a couple days of sunburn when the skin is itchy, just use a body scrub and you can get rid of the irritants. It will be a relief to your sanity to not have to deal with the itching for long. The results of the body scrub will also be visible on your skin making it smoother and softer to the touch.
