Laser surgery to cover up acne scars?
I used to have bad acne as a teenager and now my outbreaks are pretty much over with and my doctor mentioned laser surgery to cover up these small but several scars leftover, he said they sort of sand it to make them less visible. Has anybody heard or had this done? And also how did you like the outcome and was it expensive.
I haven't had this done but I've met a few people who have. It's relatively common if the scarring is bad enough. Your doctor was right in describing how it's done. They essentially 'sand' off the top layers of the scar to smooth it over and encourage new skin growth. Similar procedures are used for people getting rid of spots, wrinkles and other things on their skin. Not sure about the cost of the procedure though I'd imagine depending on the doctor and possible insurance coverages as well as how much work needs to be done, it's in the low thousands.
