Has anyone ever had laser treatment or acupuncture to heal a torn rotator cuff?
Has anyone ever had laser treatment or acupuncture to heal a torn rotator cuff? Was the treatment successful and how many sessions did it take for the rotator cuff to heal? Thanks for your comments.
When I injured my rotator cuff last year, I researched all the possible alternatives to surgery. I never tried laser treatment but I did do accupuncture for a while. I noticed some pain relief but nothing dramatic. It's possible I didn't do it long enough (2 months.) I got on a serious rotator cuff therapy program and that's when I started to heal. It was slow going but 7 months later I was pretty much pain free except for a slight ache when I would raise my arm over my head.
It's been over a year now and I have regained full range of motion and my rotator cuff is pretty much fully healed now. I do a lot of martial arts and weight lifting, so having full range of motion is very important to me.
If you're going to go the physical therapy route, keep in mind that you have to be really consistent and patient. I think therapy can be a good way to go... I posted a link below with some info on the program I followed. Good luck!

Facing Up to Acne Scars and Laser Treatment
Acne scars can be so damaging psychologically, that acne sufferers feel compelled to seek laser treatment. Laser treatment may not be their first option, but the unrelenting disease of acne doesn't let up.
The movement away from customary topical treatments for acne should not be taken lightly. Serious consideration and consultation must be sought. A laser treatment for acne puts you at the doorway of surgery. This must not be taken lightly.

Return of the dreaded cold sore. Again around the laser-treated area.
You may need to take an antibiotic for seven to 10 days afterwards, to cover the risk of infection.
Swelling is common after the procedure.
Scarring may occur, although this is rare.
Smokers will have to drop their habit during this procedure. This is probably far and away the best 'complication' of all.
There is so much more to consider when contemplating using laser-treatment on acne scars. Always seek consultation before you make any final decisions.
