help, eye and face troubles? calling all beauty product experts?
after years of exhaustive searching, i have finally settled on a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and exfoliator that I like, don't dry out my skin, is gentle, and works. two thirds of my acne has cleared up and my skin is baby soft.
however, there are two products that are sorely missing from my routine. the first is an eye cream. it has to be lightweight (not sticky or heavy), depuff my eyes, hydrate the eye area, and reduce dark circles. it also needs to be less than $20 because i will be using it as a part of my regular routine.
the second product is a serum or cream that calms and eliminates redness. Again, less than $20.
I need you to recommend products that will do these things effectively. I have not heard of a good redness calmer, but i have heard of good eye creams from DHC (eye bright) and The Body Shop (Vitamin E cream) are these good?
I am begging the product junkies to help me on this one, I don't have a lot of money to spend and i need to know they work.
unfortunately i cant help you with your question im sorry =(
but i would really like to know what the products are that you are using at the moment> would you be able to email me the names? i so sorry i cant help you out
actually this might help. about the redness... i havent heard of any creams or serums but i have a face pack and they last for ages. like a term depending on how much you use it. ( i use mine twice a week).
its like a face mask but its specially formulated to calm the skin and ease redness and its really good. mine is elizabeth arden cream comforting pack 100mls. i dont remeber how much i payed but you can definately get cheap ones that do the same thing if you go to a chemist.
for the eye cream you could always ask a person at a chemist because then you can give her your specifications and sometimes there is a trial period. the only issue there is that sometimes they are expensive. but you can give her a price range too.
good luck and i would really love it if you could tell me the products you are using.
xx
Well I used to have some acne but I used the Clinique system and now I'm all clear, but also a little irritated and dry sometimes. I want to switch up skincare, however, I have no idea how to choose products! Do I get foam or cream cleansers? Toners or astringents? Lightweight or thick moisturizers? Natural or conventional? Ect. ect. ect.
Basically I'm curious if there is any set "guide" to choosing skincare products?
A lot of choosing skin care products goes by whatever you prefer, but if I were you I'd choose the cream cleansers because they tend to be a bit more moisturizing (not all though), toners are more gentle than astringents (astringents are more aimed at absorbing oil), I generally prefer thick moisturizers because I have dry skin too and a lot of the time I find moisturizers that don't do enough, and I'd go for conventional products because normally any claims about a product being "natural" are BS. Hope that helped! Good luck!
