i want to know is styling and setting lotion the same as conditioner? and also does conditioner have to be washed out or can u leave it in??

No, the lotion would just make your hair look greasy. And it depends on what kind of conditioner you use. To have conditioner that you can leave in try looking for "Leave in conditioner".
