If accutane doesnt clear acne 100%, will at least the cysts go away and only have small break outs?


If accutane doesnt clear my acne 100%, will at least the cysts go away and only have small break outs that can be easily dealt with with benozyl peroxide? What are the chances that acne comes back cystic after a LOW DOSE accutane course?

I was on Accutane for 8 months and I still get cysts. My best advice is to go on a high dose of 2-3 times a day. Also diet and excercise is a huge factor. My cysts are definitely a lot less in frequency these days. You should definitely take accutane because it does help big time.

Benzoyl peroxide is a scam, don't even bother with that garbage. Get some isotretinoin cream for your cysts, this works pretty well.

ACCUTANE USERS were you cured with a short or lower dose then typically prescribed?(usually 6 months 40mg/day)


My acne isnt too severe im just wondering what its gonna take to clear me. seeing derm in one week.

usually ppl cure faster with large dose n short period. but there is a lot of side effect associated with it. mine is 20mg per day for 9months. my dermatologist said if i take for longer period, it will totally cure the acne. probability for the acne to go forever is more than 90%. the dose is depend on ur weight, (0.5mg/kg/day). it will cure the acne that failed with the treatment of antibiotic.but it may take some time, but usually u may experience initial breakout.
