makeup for acne prone skin?
okay so i'm really having trouble finding a nice brand. i've tried almay and physician's formula because those were the only brands i heard of that were okay on acne prone skin. almay was decent, but i wanted to see if i could find something better so i got physician's formula. physician's formula isn't working as great as almay for me because i have to reapply the concealer throughout the day. my skin gets kind of oily and the concealer comes off after a couple hours to reveal pink and red acne.
so friends, please tell me some other brands that i could try that would be safe on my skin.
You'll need to use a combination of concealer and foundation for good coverage. Use an oil-free moisturizer or one with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid first to help your skin and give a good base for the makeup.
Some preferred makeup from reviews by people with acne are:
Concealers: L'oreal Tru-Match (lots of colors to match your skin), Murad Acne Treatment concealer, and bareMinerals multi-tasking face concealer (a powder).
Foundations: bareMinerals, Neutrogena Skin-Clearing, and Clinique Stay True Makeup Oil-free
Also, set you makeup with a good transclucent oil-free powder and it will last longer and absorb any oil. A good one is barMinerals mineral veil (I love this!). Laura Mercier has a new one that's good for slightly oily skin (Smooth Focus) and Cover Fx also has a good setting powder. Carry some blotting papers with you.
