should i apply makeup directly after cleansing?
i was just wondering if this helped skin become less oily or if it makes it worse or if it doesnt really matter.
i have oily skin and blackheads on my nose. large pores on my cheeks and whenever i put make up on it always makes me look like i have too much on then it always wears off and just looks bad,
any help?
even if my skin is oily?
u can buy oil absorbing moisturizers, so u could try one of those. i only use a tiny bit of moisturizer because my skin is oily too but it looks flaky if i just leave it dry. after u cleanse, u should rinse ur face with cold water, it will close the pores and make them appear smaller over time. then apply a bit of oil absorbing moisturizer and wait at least 10 minutes before applying ur foundation. its sounds like the make-up ur using might not be the right one for u. MAC do a good range but they are pricey so i'd try Maybelline Everfresh Foundation. i really like that. have a look on the web for best foundations for oily skin and see what it says. make sure u apply a translucent powder over the top of ur make up to absorb oil and u could buy some oil absorbing tissues and just dab them over ur face when its gettin a bit oily. they dont smudge or lift off ur makeup. x

The Importance of Cleansing Skin Care
If your idea of cleaning your face is washing it once a day with the same bar of deodorant soap you have sitting in the shower, then it’s time you did your skin a favor and found a real cleanser. Harsh body soaps weren’t made to clean your face, or even your body. They are so harsh, they can remove too much moisture. Some are too gentle for your skin, and may leave behind oil and bacteria that can lead to breakouts. You need a cleanser that is made for your skin type.
When you have oily, acne-prone skin, there are some ingredients that are essential for you to use to clean your skin. It should contain a bactericide, since bacteria are a major cause of acne. It should contain an astringent that isn’t alcohol to help remove excess oil. Finally, your cleanser should contain a moisturizer so that your skin doesn’t get too dry.
For dry skin, a cleanser needs to add moisture but it also should have some exfoliating properties. Dry skin tends to be flaky and sluggish, and you need a cleanser that removes dead skin cells and leaves fresh, smooth skin behind.
For combination skin, a cleanser needs to be specially formulated for you type of skin, so that you get the right ingredients for the oily and the dry or normal part of your face. Otherwise, what works for one part might hurt the other.
There are also new wipes that are made to do it all. They take off makeup, cleanse your face, and moisturize it, too. These can be effective, but may be better left for travel or use at the gym.
It’s also extremely important that you use a cleanser at least twice a day, maybe more if you have oily skin. Make sure your face is completely clean and makeup free before you go to bed. Otherwise, it will plug up pores and cause breakouts.
You can get cleansing wipes, creams, lotions, soaps, or foaming cleansers, not to mention scrubs for deep cleaning your skin. Just make sure the type you get is appropriate to your skin type. An occasional cleansing mask can give your skin a little boost, too. The new thermal masks that heat up after you apply them are good for deep cleaning and are absolutely wonderful to have on. They are a great way to clean your skin and unwind at the same time.
If you get a cleansing product that is used for skin cleansing and also has moisturizer or toner for skin care, that’s one less thing you have to do. You can clean and treat you skin all at one time.
