Mattifier Absorbs Oil
How do i get foundation to blend on my skin during winter?
I suffer from acne scars so i use liquid foundation as a concealer, dabbing it only on the scars. I normally use a acne mattifier(dermalogical) on my face before applying foundation as i have oily skin and live in a tropical country. However, i will be going to a country during winter. I thus have to use a moisturiser. I bought a neutrogena oil-free moisturiser which also acts as a mattifier. When apply this moisturiser instead of my mattifier, the foundation will sort of clump up and will not be absorbed to become smooth and clear. This has not happened in the case of the mattifier. How should i solve this problem? I need the moisturiser because i will get flaky skin which is even worse. What should i do? Any ideas or suggestion for a routine?
Thanks.
Make sure that you exfoliate at least 3 times a week. Make sure that you apply a generous amount of moisturizer before bedtime. While you sleep you skin restores itself by soaking up any moisture in your skin. When you wake up you skin won't be as dry and you won't really have to add that much moisturizer. You could rinse your face in the morning and apply cetaphil moisturizer under you foundation since its very light and won't interfere with your foundation.

Very oily skin?
My skin is very oily, I've tried a ton of products but nothing seems to work. Right now I use the Proactiv three step system, then I will use smashbox photo finish primer and mattifier, for a foundation and concealer I use Bare Escentuals. By mid-day my face looks like an oil pit! So I then use oil-absorbing sheets which does work for a while, but I want to avoid the problem altogether.
Use a Glycolic Acid product during the day and night, this will help absorb the oil and prevent it all together. Try
MD Formulations Facial Lotion. Ask for a sample to try before you buy. Good luck.
