Can you use Mederma scar cream on your face for acne scars?


I have acne scars on both my cheeks. I've gotten them in the last three months or so and they were huge pimples so they left big scars. I am not sure if I can use Mederma skin care for scars cream on my face?

It depends. When i used Mederma for a new acne scar, it worked but you do have to put it on bout 2 times a day and it took bout 2 weeks for me till it was gone. I'm trying to use it on old acne scars but there's only been little improvement and I'm still going at it.

How do to take care of deep cuts/prevent scarring?


I have about 3, inch-long gashes on my leg from falling on broken plastic (don't ask). They're pretty deep and painful. The plastic really dug into my skin and they look nasty.

So far I've just washed them with soap and water, and put a big antibiotic bandaid on it. I also bought some Mederma but haven't put any on yet since it said not to put it on open wounds, and they only happened yesterday.

I'm really worried I'll have big, ugly scars left over on my leg. What's the best thing to do to make sure they heal quickly and well and don't scar? Any products I should use? How? Do any foods prevent skin from scarring?

Keep the cut moist at all times with lotion or gel and keep bandage.
Do not let the cut dry out or scab over.Clean with mild soap and water every day. Keep it moist until well heal. This will heal the cut twice as fast and keep the scaring down. Once the cut is healed if you have any scaring, massage the scar everyday to break down the scar tissue. This works really well. Good luck
