Should i continue using this mask everyday?
so its goten rid of my forehead pimples for the most part, but now my face is like kinda red, and discoloured. But i guess that was gnna hapeen when the zits are gone.
I use the murad clarifying mask every night after washing my face on my t zone problems. Should i still use it now that its cleared up??
Like to prevent acne??? The only thing is that its hard to take off in the morning sometimes, and it makes the pores larger if i rub too hard. Also not to mention my foundation can go on cakey.
I think you are getting cleared with sulfur. Sulfur can get great for acne, but it also comes with potential for irritation, too. But in your case, let's say its benefits outweights its negatives. You just have to use the right product with right formulation.
Murad Clarifying Mask is way too drying and problematic. Here is the ingredient.
Active Ingredient: Sulfur (4%). Other Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Kaolin, Bentonite, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Zinc Oxide, Talc, Titanium Dioxide, Cetyl Alcohol, Dicaprylyl Maleate, Salicylic Acid, Lecithin, Tocopherol, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Palmitoyl Hydroxypropyltrimonium Amylopectin/Glycerin Crosspolymer, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Allantoin, Linalool, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Tetrasodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Camphor.
Ingredient such as sulfur (great anti-bacterial) and mineral clays kaolin & bentonite & talc are all drying. Combine, they can peel, burn, and possibly develop chronic inflammation with daily use. It contain lavender oil that is known to contain linalool, a cytotoxic chemical.
IF you insist on using a mask, get Proactiv Refining mask. Plus it is way cheaper on amazon.com

The irritation and inflammation "should be" lessen due to the high amount of linoleic acid.
Or you can try Clearasil Stayclear, Adult Acne Treatment Cream, Adult Tinted
Resorcinol (2%) (Acne Medication), Sulfur (8%) (Acne Medication)
Inactive Ingredients: Water, Alcohol Denatured, Bentonite (CI 77004), Glyceryl Stearate SE, Titanium Dioxide, Isopropyl Myristate, Fragrance (Parfum), Iron Oxides, Simethicone, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Talc
This one also has less problematic ingredients. It contain higher about of sulfur, which can be good or bad for you. I am using this product.
Bottom line: if sulfur is working for you, you can stick with it and leave benzoyl peroxide out of the question. Best not to use those two together because they can dry you out furuther. If you want to use a mask, use it every other night and apply benzoyl peroxide in between.
