Natural Products Acne
Does anyone know of any natural/organic products that really get rid of acne?
Please be as specific as you can. Thank you!
I posted this in the skin section but I wanted to post it here as well because vegans use vegan and organic products so I thought I could get some answers here. Thanks again.
My acne of many years disappeared in a week after giving up meat and dairy. Gone. All those years of trying all kinds of creams, skin cleaners, etc. The answer is that you cannot put something on your skin to get rid of it. Acne is born within you. My acne will come back whenever I eat oily foods or sugary foods -- within an hour or by the next day I will have bumps on my forehead and if I eat more the next day it will progress to my shoulders. But, rarely do I eat this way and never do they get to the point where they are white-heads or 'popable' etc.
Yeah, my friends were amazed. They didn't see me for a few days, then my skin was totally clear and smooth with no sign of acne. "Hey man, what are you using for your acne?" I told them that it was meat and likely the dairy too. I also found that my skin looks its best when I'm exercising a lot in the summer and drinking lots of water and getting lots of sunshine -- oh, and eating lots form the garden.... as opposed to winter when I exercise less, eat less garden veggies, less sun (oooh I need some sunshine!), etc.

Are natural products more effective in the treatment of severe acne?
I have really bad acne, literally. My entire face, arms, chest, and back is covered with it. I have gone to two different dermatologists about it and am realizing that my options have basically dwindled down to a handful. Basically none of the meds have worked. So that is my story.
Recently I have researched that all natural products, such as those from Burt's Bee's, are actually more affective in the treatment of acne than prescription medication. Is this true?
I have also researched that tea tree oil is very effective in treating acne. Is this true?
I am, at this point, basically willing to do and try anything to treat my acne and stop new acne from forming? I would really appreciate any information you can give me.
If anything natural works for you I would be amazed - especially Burts Bees - its all very oily and waxy - it does after all, get its name from bees wax...
Tea tree oil isn't effective in killing the bacteria that causes acne - It doesn't kill gram negative germs
Acne is genetic - you inherited a system that produces inflammatory cytokines in response not to the bacteria p. acnes (sp?) but rather, the metabolic by products of that bacteria - most people are covered with that bacteria - but not everyone has acne because not every one reacts to it...you just happen to be one...
I would stick with prescribed medications. Two different doctors is not that many to see when it comes to severe acne. And its not unusual for it to take 2-3 years, and a a whole lot of medications before you find the right combination that will help you - I know thats not encouraging....I've been there.
