help me with my acne?
ok so im about to become a senior in high school but my acne started getting pretty bad this summer. before i just had a pimple here n there, but now i have like rlly small pimples around my cheeks and one or two decentsized pimples pop up like every five days... and ive also had quite a number of pimples on my neck. i have been popping pimples but i do it the 'right way' where i dab hot water on the spot n just get the wite stuff out. i also try the toothpaste thing but it never works. i wash my face twice a day wit neutrogena oilfree acne wash, never touch it with my hands, drink lots of water, eat fairly healthy, exercise everyday, and i have a pretty low stress level. What do i need to do to get rid of my acne?
okay well you don't really need proactive
your skin type is probably just oilier than average
neutrogena is not the way to go
i'd start off with clearasil pore cleansing pads
you should probably get the regular kind
instead of ultra just to see how your skin tests up again it
it's like 4 bucks at target
you should keep this on you at all times
and use it whenever your face feels dirty
for a daily cleanser, since it sounds like your skin is oily
i'd get dr. hauschka's cleansing cream
you only need to use it once a day
typically after you shower
they sell this at whole foods market
but if you don't have that around they do offer their products online
i also use a mud cleansing bar after a cleanser
i use AHAVA mud bar
they sell it at Ulta, GNC, or off their website
and make sure you use a toner after you wash your face
you don't need to get crazy with the toner
just make sure it has witch hazel in it
you could just buy witch hazel from walmart
but i use drhauschka's facial toner
if you rather use only one source i'd recommend Obagi
rather than proactive but Obagi is pretty strong
it does turn your face red and your skin gets flakey
for the first few months, if your skin is sensitive
but i know people who used to have craters on their face
and after about four months their skin is now flawless .
remember to only wash your face with cleansers
AFTER you wash your hair because if you wash it before
the oils from your hair will just continue to mess with your face
&& change your pillow case every two weeks or at least wash it
&& if you do go the drugstore/target route and get the more
common brands like clearasil, clean and clear and what not
just make sure the things you're getting contains
benezoyl peroxide or salicylic acid because those are
active ingredients in fighting acne

Who Gets Acne and Who Doesn't?
Acne and pimples is one of a teenagers worst nightmares, affecting more than 85% of the teenage population. Acne can be disfiguring, but its main effects are psychological which leads to low self-esteem.
What is acne? Acne is the result of hair follicles and pores that become clogged. The most common form of acne is known as acne vulgaris. This does not mean vulgar, it just means common acne. Many teenagers get this type of acne. The most common area affected is the face followed by the back, shoulders and chest.
Why do some people get acne and some do not? Although, much research and studies have been conducted in this field, no one knows for sure why one person gets acne and another person doesn't. There are several factors that are associated with developing acne.
I'm Dr. Herb Feinberg. I'm a board-certified dermatologist, and I specialize in treating acne.
Because many of my patients have tried Proactiv-type products with little to no improvement, I've developed an acne program that works for everyone. If you have mild, moderate or severe acne, you can choose your treatment from 3 levels of products that are similar to prescription medications.
Find the TREATMENT LEVEL you need, order at no risk and you'll become my virtual patient. I'll be available via e-mail to answer any question about your condition or treatment.
There are hundreds of OTC acne products and programs out there, but few, if any, try to really treat serious acne. The Proactivs', Murads' and Neutrogena's are geared to offend the least number of people without really reaching out to offer people serious anti-acne ingredients.
