Pimples Acne Vulgaris

i have pimples on my face, high chest and my back and shoulders, will it be there forever?


i think its called acne vulgaris or extreme acne, but i really want to know if it will be there forever

unless you start treatment for it then yes.
go to your doctor & they'll get you a lotion/cream for it.
it may take a few times though, some might dry up your skin or make it worse.
it took me at least a year to find one that didn't make my skin flaky, worse, dry etc.
don't give up :)

Cystic Acne. Any substitute for Accutane? How bad can Accutane get?


I had acne vulgaris when I was around 13. But it only lasted for a couple of years.

Now 24. About 3 years back (while studying in the US), it recurred. But it was much serious, it was something like cystic acne. They are normally huge, lie underneath the skin, and take a long time for the puss to occur and even longer time to heal.

They normally emerge at the same areas, particularly around the chin area, at the sides of the nose, and at the sides of the forehead.. There can be 6-10 "connected" pimples on the chin when it gets very bad.

While my acne problem doesn't recur 100% of the time (mainly due to stress, I surmise), it really hurts, more so emotionally.

Please help. How effective is Accutane. And if there is any alternative to that? As I read it can be really harmful to certain individuals.

I had Cystic Acne back when I was in college. I took Accutane because nothing else worked. In short, its been 20 yrs or so since and I rarely get any more pimples. The treatment can be harsh, but IMO, the results were truly worth it. Some say depression is associated with its use(yes, I experienced that at the time), so be aware of that.
