My acne is quite completely gone thanks to Benzoyl Peroxide 10% but now I have little Post-Acne Spots that I wanna delete, so I wanna go to a dermatologist.
Somebody knows what is the price, with insurance, for a visit? and then the dermatologist will just prescribe me a cream or I'm going to have a treatment?
I heard the Laser Treatment is quite good for Post-Acne Spots... the insurance is going to cover that?
I'm just going to say that I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one who had to deal with acne that caused those blasted spots. Can't believe it struck me when I was well past adolescence (early twenties). Anyway, my derm told me that the skin has to do its own thing. After the actual acne has gone and you are left with just the weird dot-spots, then give yourself six months with the skincare routine. You may be left with some scarring...I had superficial (very light) scarring that is getting MUCH better after all this time (acne flare started a year ago). Don't be discouraged. So, you may be told to wait and let your skin heal with the aids of creams, antibiotics, etc. NOW, with insurance, the visit for me was about fifteen bucks. As far as what your derm is going to do is anyone's guess. Mine kept me on an antibiotic, Benzaclin, and Differin. All three are doing a swell job. My esthetician (I highly recommend you see one for alternative and painless treatments as well as excellent tips) told me to make sure blood gets to my face. When your face is calm enough, try to gently exfoliate your skin but be careful with it. A few times a week...not grinding your face. You can do this in the shower and Clean and Clear Morning Burst is pretty good. WAIT...as far as the laser treatment goes, I was told it would cost me $1500 and was not guaranteed to work. No, insurance will not cover it. "An out of pocket expense" was what I was told. Wait until your spots are gone and then see if the scarring (you may luck out and not get any) is bad enough for it. Don't get discouraged, always work with your derm and visit an esthetician to help you recover. I wish you the best because I understand! FYI: people say it doesn't matter what you eat. Ever since I ditched sweets and cokes for fruit and water, my skin looks better to my surprise. It helps even it out a little and prevents a lot of pop-ups. I apologize that this is so long, but I really am trying to help.
The Best Way To Get Rid Of Post Acne Mark And Other Skin Discolorations
Skin discolorations are a common complaint and the reason that many women wear foundation and put on concealer. Darker skin tones especially should remain aware and work to prevent the appearance of dark spots, dark marks or other skin discolorations by using the right skin care products.
Many women will not only get a zit or a pimple here and there, but that pimple or zit usually leaves behind a dark spot as a reminder of its past presence. With too many spots around your face, it can be kind of hard to maintain the confidence needed to leave the house bare faced without any makeup and heavy foundation on.
Which woman wouldn't just love to one be like their friends and leave the house bare faced with little to no makeup? It's great to have makeup as an option NOT a requirement!
Use Safe Products:
It's recommended that in order to get rid of hyper pigmentation and dark spots or dark marks on the skin that you use products containing ingredient that are safe enough and won't cause any harm or damage to your skin.
Using products that contain hydroquinone should be limited to 4% concentration and no higher. Hydroquinone has been proven to actually have the reverse effect by darkening skin overtime if one uses a higher concentration for a prolonged period of time.
Ingredients to even tone skin:
Skin care products with ingredients such as Kojic acid, arbutin, mulberry extracts and licorice have been proven to safely lighten skin effectively in a short amount of time.
Doing a light skin peel before you start the application of lightening creams encourages skin regeneration required for the skin lightening ingredients to work faster. It is however recommended that you use very low concentrations of 10%- 15% as higher concentrations of skin peels can really irritate your skin.
Meladerm products are great as they also have ingredients that can safely and effectively lighten skin. Depending on how dark the skin discolorations are that you want to lighten, the lightening process can take anywhere from1 week to 1 month.
It Just Takes Some Time
Skin renewal and regeneration takes time and requires patience. So it's important that one stays away from the sun and wears an SPF 15+ with every exposure to sunlight.
