Pro Extreme do you really need an AIRPORT EXTREME BASE TATION to connect a macbook pro to a wireless n router network?
ok. so i have this router. its a metgear wireless N network and its connected to my PC. im thinking of getting a mac book pro and want to connect it to the network. will i need an AIRPORT EXTREME BASE STATION to do so?
what is it anyway?
You don't need an AirPort if you already have a wireless router.
AirPort and AirPort Extreme are simply Apple's brand of wireless router. True, they are awesome routers and made to work seamlessly with Macs, but you don't NEED one.
As long as the Mac is WiFi ready (and all the MBPros are) you will be fine. It might take some configuring to get it running, but it's nothing the Apple Store or your internet provider can't help you with (if you buy a new Mac, AppleCare Support is free for one year, three years if you buy AppleCare - which I would suggest, especially on a laptop).
Your Metgear will work fine. It won't be as fast as the G routers, but it's still pretty fast.
The one awesome thing about a AirPort Extreme is that you not only have wireless internet, but you can use the AirPort as a wireless print server and it syncs with iTunes - you can plug your stereo into the AirPort and listen to your iTunes library wirelessly.

2009 Head Extreme, Extreme Pro & Extreme Team Tennis Rackets Feature Teflon
Head Tennis is breaking new ground with its 2009 Tennis rackets by introducing Teflon Polymer to the new 2009 MicroGEL Extreme, Extreme Pro and Extreme Team line of racquets. It’s called Friction Free MicroGel with Teflon. The new Head tennis racquet grommets are injected with Teflon friction-reducing polymer. This provides the most innovative generation of grommets of any Head Tennis racket to date! This new Teflon technology enables the racquet strings to slide through the grommets with nearly no friction. This drastically reduces mechanical energy loss during ball impact and allows for greater string movement due to the low resistance, offering more power. Engineers are constantly trying to create improvements to string freedom to allow more energy return to the ball.
