i have pretty bad acne. i have it on my face, chest, and back. i've tried multiple products, but nothing seems to get rid of it. proactiv, acnefree, neutrogena advanced solutions, clean and clear, salaylic acid, peroxide. all most of them do are make my skin dry. i'm thinking about going to the dermotologist but i've heard it's a waste of money. can anyone help me? anything that actually worked for them?
Go to the dermatologist. For really severe cystic acne, they can prescribe a drug called Accutane. It's tough stuff (it's a pill you take that stops your body's production of oil). They may try some other drugs first; Accutane is the really hard-core stuff. Dermatologists are not a waste of money, unless you don't follow their advice. You may have to try a couple different things until you find one that works.
Hollywood Beauties pick CRMC over Proactiv & Accutane
Should i switch back to Proactiv?
I used to pick my acne alot and pop ones that were not in need of popping, so i have a few pink scars, im only 14. I started using proactive, i used it for four months and it worked for about 2 months of the 4, not perfectly but it got most of them gone. It stopped working so i switched to Neutrogena Advance Solutions, which contains benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. Its appearing to work and ive been using it for about 3 weeks. But around my nose is turning red and it hurts. I heard that the combo of the two is dangerous for your face so im kinda worried. Should i just go back to proactive? I switched immediately to Neutrogena and i didnt break out at all.
ah! i have been there, done that, just as you have! i've tried everything! go see a dermatologist! they will get you on some solution right away, it may take a month to totally work, but once it works, it works amazing!
