Eating meat and feeling sick?
For two weeks I didn't eat any meat or dairy products. During this time I was eating alot of green vegetables, peanut butter, beans, and I was taking calcium pills. I found that I had alot more energy and I felt really good. My mom got very angry with me as it started into a third week and made me stop, I am 15 and theres not alot I can do to fight back about the matter. This is the first week I have eaten meat sense and I feel very drained and weak. Is this due to the fact that my body is getting used to the change or is it the meat?
I doubt that your body would lose the ability to process meat and dairy in such a short period of time. Other possibilities:
- You have a food sensitivity. If this is the case, it's probably the dairy. Food sensitivities can make you feel fatigued and just in general not so great without making you openly sick. Eliminating them would solve this problem, re-introducing them would bring back symptoms.
- The saturated fat is back. It's a lot harder to get saturated fat if you're not eating animal foods. (Plant sources do exist, but they're not as common.) Fatty foods definitely can make you feel a heck of a lot more sleepy.
- It could be mental. When I'm eating vegetarian, I feel a lot more "clean" for some reason. I think it's because vegetarian foods are so much lighter. Whenever I was eating mostly vegetarian and got some meat for whatever reason, I could feel it.
- See if your mom will let you skip the red meat and poultry. Fish is still an animal, but it's a lot "lighter" and has lower levels of cholesterol and saturated fat (depending what kind you eat).
- Offer to help cook once in awhile. Make something vegetarian and delicious. (Veggie chili is super-easy and you can toss in some fake meat for texture.)
Good luck, friend, and I hope you get your energy back fast. Be sure that you're not replacing all of the green veggies with meat and dairy. Make an effort to eat a lot of fresh veggies, especially raw.

Body Firming Lotions and Anti Aging Skin Care
We're all familiar with the telltale results of aging skin - saggy arms, loose skin, cellulite, double chin and "spare tires" - but how many of us know how to fight this phenomenon and firm up our skin and body? There are various ways to do this...primarily with body firming lotions.
Collagen and elastin are what keep skin supple and firm. The adverse consequences of smoking, toxins in food, UV light and photo-damage, smoking, and other factors cause collagen production to slow down. The formerly firm structure weakens and the skin loses its elasticity and resilience, forming wrinkles and lines that reduce the skin's hydration water retention abilities. Anti aging skin products help restore firmness, restore elasticity, and tighten loose skin.
Tighten Your Skin
The best - and most difficult! - way to tighten skin and restore skin tone is to have a regular exercise routine. A good diet also helps, one that is not excessively fattening, and that is a good balance of required proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. Drink lots of water, this is the easiest way to keep your skin supple.
An easy skin firming face pack you can make at home is a mixture of buttermilk and cooked oatmeal. Let it dry on your face: it will tighten the skin, and freshen and moisturize the skin as well. Bananas are also great for reducing enlarged skin pores - apply some mashed banana on your face, leave it on for twenty minutes and see the results for yourself. Another great skin firmer is the white of an egg, beaten still and left on the skin for about ten minutes. A steam treatment will flush out toxins from your skin, and tighten it up.
Skin Care Products for Body Firming and Tight Skin
There are various products that are believed to help get skin tight. Anti-cellulite creams, for instance, deal with the ugly patches with fat trapped in the cells that form on the skin of women's arms and thighs. These creams tone skin by removing the extra moisture and reducing fatty deposits in the skin and making skin supple again.
Skin care that introduces free radical scavengers (antioxidants) can also help keep skin firm as well as those with Hyaluronic Acid (naturally occurring hydration), or Argireline and Matrixyl. Argireline and Matrixyl are now both very common firming active ingredients used in lotions, serums, anti aging and anti wrinkle skin care products. You can also stimulate collagen and elastin production through skin microdermabrasion (exfoliation) techniques or through home exfoliation methods.
Body firming lotions contain excellent ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Shea Butter, Emu oil, vitamin E, collagen and extracts from green tea, that do wonders for skin tone and give your tight skin. In addition, you'll find creams and soaps with firming serums, copper, vitamin A, ginseng and elastin that help skin stay firm, tight and supple.
