Pure Zone Step differin and salicylic/glycolic acid?
I went to the dermatologist because I have recently developed acne. She put me on Differin and Erythromycin (one night Differin, the next night the other). I told her I wash my face with a salicylic acid gel, then tone with a 2 % salicylic acid toner, and finally moisturize with Loreal Pure Zone step 3, which contains salicylic acid. Then I wash again with the cleanser gel at night, and once a week I do an at-home 10 % glycolic acid peel. She said all of this was OK, and I should keep doing it. But I got my Differin today and read on the package that it should not be used with glycolic or salycilic acid producst. What should I do?
by the way, the differin is a topical gel, not the pills. so is the erythromycin.
Stop using everything else for a while and see how you react to just Differin. I didn't so anything to my skin except using Clean and Clear w/salicylic acid occasionally. I started Differin and it really dried my skin. It hurt after rubbing it with a towel after I washed my face. If you see that your skin is normal after about a week, then go back to your regular regime and see how you react. If your skin gets dried, just use Differin. I think it's more powerful than anything over-the-counter as is much more worth your time.
I have terrible skin!, acne scars, enlarged pores blackhead ridden nose and sebum oil enough to fry an egg! Yes, I'm on the whole 3 step skin care regime. I use loreal pure zone (blue packaging) facial wash and scrub. Even after scrubbing thoroughly, my skin feels smooth BUT THE EFFIN' BLACKHEADS ARE STILL THERE! Plus, my nose is shiny like a freshly polished car but its dry to the touch! aaaargh! What skin condition am I in??? It feels so abnormal gosh~
What am I doing wrong? I can't afford more than the drugstore brands. Anyone can recommend me better products (drugstore) or tell me what i should do. Thank you!!

1. squish your nose up like a pig (hard enough to squeeze out the blackheads and unclog the pores). then, squeeze the sides to do the same, making sure you get rid of as much blackheads and whiteheads as possible...
2. next, take an anti-bacterial body soap (i use dial cranberry and antioxidant) and cover your hands in it and then get some sea salt and use the two of them to exfoliate your skin, like a sugar scrub. do not scrub too hard! rinse it off and pat your face dry with a clean towel when you are finished...
3. when your face is nice and dry, get an oil-free moisturizer to moisturize your face (you can find one at a dollar tree, it will say: vitamin a skin cream and comes in a little purple jar). it is very important to moisturize because if you don't your face produces it's natural oil which causes pimples...
this is the exact thing i do and my skin is so much clearer than it was before i tried everything! even prescription drugs...
