Reduce Wrinkles and Fine Lines - 20 Simple Wrinkle Erasers

To reduce wrinkles and fine lines is a goal of many, many people - But we must first understand how and why they present themselves in the first place!

Ageing of the skin is a natural occurrence which we owe to the collagen and elastin levels in our skin declining. Collagen and elastin keep our skin looking firm and youthful, so a decline results in wrinkles. Cell production and cell quality also diminish over time resulting in wrinkles due to “free radical” damage.

The good news is that we can slow down and reduce wrinkles and fine lines through our diet and supplements!

The influences that are within our control are largely environmental such as pollution (eg; smoking) and sun damage. Here are 20 easy ways to reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as slowing down the aging process.

1.    Stop smoking (It’s numero uno for a reason!)

2.    Always use sunscreen whether it’s cloudy or sunny and don’t “overcook”.

3.    Keep your skin hydrated by drinking around 6-8 glasses of water a day.

4.    Use natural skin care products that contain antioxidants and AHA's.

5.    Keep your skin moisturized. Moisturize the skin on your face twice daily.

6.    Reduce stress in your life! (Try exercising and meditating) 15 minutes a day is a good start.

7.    Reduce your alcohol intake. Over indulging will prioritize digesting the alcohol in your system rather than antioxidants and vitamins for your skin. This will accelerate wrinkles forming.

8.    Eat healthy - Incorporate plenty of fruits and vegetables. Try to eat natural unrefined foods wherever possible in your daily diet.

9.    Try to sleep at least 8 hours every night.

10.   Eat fish three times a week. Essential omega 3 oils are great for your skin and general health.

11.   Check with your doctor or research about taking supplements - Your diet is likely lacking some of the important vitamins and antioxidants.

12.   Use eye cream for the fragile skin around the eyes before bed.

13.   Use facial scrubs to exfoliate your skin – This will remove the build up of dead cells that can increase the appearance of wrinkles - Do this weekly.

14.   Use natural skin care products that will nourish your skin and give it lots of vitamins and minerals to help it stay fresh and healthy.

15.   Jojoba oil resembles the skins natural oils. Dab this around your eyes and face to help keep wrinkles at bay.

16.   Take vit C supplements and use skin care products that contain vitamin C, it will help boost your collagen.

17.   This may not be applicable – but start a good skin care routine in your 20’s. Prevention is easier than the cure. However, it’s never too late

18.   Honey is known worldwide for it’s benefits to the skin. Use a honey mask every week. Apply the honey to your face and neck and leave it for 30 minutes before rinsing off. This mask will saturate your skin with nutrients.

19.    Aloe Vera and Avocado oil both have a unique ability to stop the skin from becoming dry; they may both be used to improve the skins elasticity.

20.    A relaxing way to help achieve a wrinkle-free face is to lie on your back with knees elevated – You can achieve this by placing a few pillows or cushions beneath them.

You could do this while watching television or reading a book.
