Smoothbeam Laser Acne Scars
Does anyone have any suggestions on getting rid of acne scars?
I tried 4 treatments of the smoothbeam laser and it did not work. I have no money to get the fraxel laser because it is expensive and i am still paying for school. I am 24 and my acne scars has brought down my confidence level a lot. Do you have any home remedies or over the counter medication that works??
I'm sorry to hear about your acne. I had a boyfriend with terrible acne, but I was very attracted to him. So, don't let your acne bring down your confidence.
I have had Fraxel laser treatment done for stretch marks, and it was very effective. I saw some of the pictures of the people who have had it done to help with acne scars at the dermatologist office, and it was pretty incredible. My dermatologist charged $600 for one treatment on the face, and I would recommend at least five treatments -- so you are right that it is expensive.
I have also gone on Accutane; however, this medication just clears up acne -- not acne scars. It is expensive unless you have health insurance.
I'm sorry I can't offer anymore advice. I don't think that a cream with help very much with acne or acne scars. Good luck!

Fraxel Laser My Final Treatment Day 4
Effective New Treatments For Removing Acne Scars!
The three most popular treatments used today for the treatment of acne scar removal are Smoothbeam laser, Vbeam laser and Fraxel. These modern laser acne scar removal treatments help promote collagen growth under the scars, which means the scars are filled from the inside giving a longer lasting effect. Smoothbeam laser is done using topical anesthetic which is a cooling cryogen spray that is sprayed on the face just before treatment. The good thing about this type of treatment is that it is quite painless, and the redness that usually occurs will disappear in a few hours after the treatment.
Vbeam laser treatment works for all types of acne scar shapes, but is especially effective on red scars because its objective is to remove the blood vessels in scars whereby they will fade and have a less outstanding appearance. The bad news about this type of treatment is that your face will be red and irritated and will hurt for around a week after the treatment..
What Fraxel laser treatment does is preserve the normal healthy layers of skin lying between the areas of infected skin that has been treated by the laser allowing for a much faster recovery than other laser treatments. After a series of treatments the skin is restored looking refreshed and beautiful. Because Fraxel laser penetrates the dead layer of tissue leaving it completed untreated, make-up can be worn immediately following this procedure. Depending on the extent of the treatment some patients are able to return to work immediately after the treatment while others require a few days to fully recover.
Before this treatment can be performed you have to prepare your skin, it will be cleansed with Opti Guide Blue, (which is a blue tint) which will be applied to the affected area. The blue tint is supposed to increase the contrast of tiny folds in the surface of the skin, so the fraxel Laser can precisely read the discreet contours of the affected area. Fraxel laser treatment can be very painful and would require the administration of a topical anesthetic ointment around sixty minutes before the operation to allow the anesthetic to take effect. This procedure can last anywhere from twenty to twenty five minutes depending on the amount of skin to be treated. Some people may experience swelling or redness and irritation after the treatment but these should fade within a few days.
All three types of treatments have their good sides and their bad sides but before you decide on which one you would like to use, you should definitely weigh the pros and cons as to how long it takes to heal, how effective it will be in clearing acne scars and how painful it is going to be after the actual treatment. It is always recommended that you consult with your dermatologist who will best be able to advise you as to which type of treatment would be best for you.
