Cleaning my Dogs Ears?
I have a border collie mutt whose ears stand straight up. Yesterday, I was giving her her routine bath and grooming. I cleaned her ears using a product called "Clean Ears" which I got from Petsmart. Ive cleaned her ears many times before with a puppy solution that I bought directly from my vet, but when I ran out, I just bought some from the store. Anyway, now her ears are sore. THEY ARE NOT INFECTED. She was just at the vet three days ago and had a full physical where he checked her ears, eyes, teeth, ect. She does not have a history of ear infection either. The cleaner is liquid with aloe vera. It says its supposed to be mild and soothing. Sure...Could she be allergic to it, or is this common with a new cleanser? If so, how long should this last and will it happen every time?

It's very possible that your dog is having a reaction to the "Clean Ears" product. A dogs ears are very sensitive and many of the products that you purchase at the pet stores are not as gentle as the products that you buy from your vet. I'm sure the product that you bought from your vet cleaned, acidified and dried quickly. This is is what you want. A gentle cleaner that acidifies (keeps the ph balance in check) and dries fast. An at home remedy for cleaning your dogs ears is to place a small amount of mineral oil on a cotton ball and gently clean the ear. Have I Been Ripped Off By Amazon?
I bought some clinique redness solutions soothing cleanser off amazon for 8 pounds. Plus postage and packaging, we're talking 12 pounds. When it arrived, they had sent me a TINY tube containing 15ml. That's enough for maybe 3/4 uses! I have seen this product in a 150ml format elswhere. On the back of the tube it said 'not for sale'. Have i been ripped off?
