How do I get my Mary Kay business going?


I need ideas to market my Mary Kay business. I have not sold anything yet. No hits on my website.

You need to talk to people. Do your facials and skin care classes. Have your current customers help promote you. Mary Kay is all about building those awesome relationships with your customers, not just about the sales. Yes, we can make great money, but it's because we offer excellent customer service on top of our incredible products to make loyal customers that keep coming back to us.

You're not just promoting your business; you're promoting yourself as well. So every day, "Get up, get cute, and get out." Talk to everyone within three feet of you. GET BUSINESS CARDS. Nobody will know you're a consultant unless you tell them, so just open your mouth and start talking. =)

Also, when you're a Star Consultant, you get priority on the consultant searches... just fyi. That's another reason why you'll want to strive to be a Star every quarter, so make sure you're talking to people and getting them on the skin care.

Edit: Also, make sure to take advantage of the Preferred Customer Program whenever you can. Probably the easiest way to promote yourself and increase your sales.

How do you feel about being a Mary Kay representative?


Do you actually receive a check in the mail after you have soled enough Mary Kay cosmetic products? Is the information in the brochure books accurate so that customers can purchase the right items?

I've been a consultant for almost 7 years! I absolutely love my Mary Kay business! We get paid two way! Every time we sell a product we take our 50% commission off the top. For example we sell a product to a customer for $20 put $10 in our pocket and buy the product form the company for $10.

We also get team building commissions from the company when we build our team. We earn 4%, 9%, or 13% depending on our level. For example: the $10 that you paid to the company for the product, they give your recruiter 13% of their $10.

So from the $20 sale you made:
You got $10
Your recruiter got $1.30
The company got $9.70

My commission check from my team averages about around $600 to $800 a month and I only work about 20 hours a week.
