What is skin tonic?

I bought a starter kit from the brand "c.o. bigelow" and it included cleanser, rose water skin tonic, and facial moisturizer. what does the skin tonic do exactly and why is it needed after cleansing the face? what order do i use everything and should all of the steps be done in one sitting?!
should i use face cleanser/skin tonic/moisturizer at night AND in the morning? because i usually just wash my face at night, and i don't want to dry my skin out or anything. what do you think?

Tonic is toner. You use is after cleanser and before moisturizer. It helps remove traces of dirt, oil, and makeup left by cleanser and prepares skin for moisturizing. You just dab a bit on a cotton swab and rub over face. And yes, all 3 steps should be done in order in one sitting.

Make up tips for your skin (face)?

Hey, I'm 16 and I don't know much about make up. I want to have a clean and soft skin. Right now, I'm only using facial cleanser and moisturizing cream. But I heard that women use much more stuff like cleansing milk, tonic, basic, foundation, powder, liquid powder... I have no idea when and how to use them. Can someone please tell me the WHOLE "recipe" in the right order and how to use them? Thanks a lot!

cleanser : to wash face and remove impurities
toner : to tighten pores and remove last traces of cleanser
moisturiser : to hydrate and soften the skin
primer / base : can make your skin look brighter and makes your makeup stay on for longer
liquid foundation : can be applied with a brush or cosmetic sponge to even out skintone and cover blemishes. you apply this all over your face and down onto your jawline.
cream foundation : same as liquid foundation but thicker and normally higher coverage, some dry to a powder finish
powder foundation : a powder which evens out skintone and covers blemishes. apply this with a brush all over your face. its normally lower coverage than liquid or cream
mineral foundation : a foundation which is made with minerals so that it does not clog your pores. normally a powder but some brands have liquid ones
normal face powder : evens out skintone and gets rid of shine on your face.
concealer :this is normally a cream or liquid but can come as a powder. you pat this over specific areas you want to cover, such as large spots or dark circles.

you do not need all of these at once.
the first thing you apply is the foundation, then the concealer then the powder. eg, mineral foundation then concealer or liquid foundation , concealer then powder.
if you have used powder or cream to powder foundation then you do not need to use normal powder afterwards.
