What is the treatment for high creatinine?
Is serum creatinine 1.8 ok?
Age : 75 years, Type 2 diabetics, LV Dysfunction.
Using diuretics (Frusemide etc.)
Pls advise
Hi You don't give units, and creatinine can be measured in different ways. I assume this is 1.8 mg/dl. Different laboratories also have different reference ranges for what is normal so this needs to be considered. That said, 1.8 mg/dl suggests that your kidneys are under some strain. Creatinine is a rather crude test of kidney function.The changing pattern of creatinine over time and creatinine tests on your urine (creatinine clearance) can give a clearer picture of what is going on.
The diuretics may be having an effect, as would ACE inhibitor drugs (I assume you are on these for your LV dysfunction). Diabetes itself and high blood pressure (if you have this) also can affect your kidneys and cause your creatinine to rise. As long as the creatinine levels are not going up and up, there is usually no need to change the medications, but good diabetes and blood pressure control are essential to prevent long term kidney failure. There is no real "treatment" for high creatinine as such - except kidney dialysis, but your levels are not that high. The important thing is that it is monitored regularly. Hope this helps

Slow Aging With Anti-aging Serum
