Acne Treatment Skin Care – Why It's a Necessity for Troubled Skin
If you're like me, you know acne treatment skin care formulas are a necessity for those that are prone to the development of comedones, papules, pustules, and nodules. You have to be careful though as to what it is you use to try and reduce your skin lesions, especially if you are someone with sensitive skin. The components in these formulas can be highly irritating to the skin.
There are many reasons that some people are more apt to develop acne than others, and one of the major ones is heredity. A family history of acne development makes it far more likely that you will have an earlier occurrence of acne breakouts, and you have a higher risk of retaining a greater number of lesions. Hormonal activity and stress are also factors.
No matter what the root cause of your acne breakouts, your acne treatment skin care formula has to address the same key physical issues. These include excessive oil production from hyperactive sebaceous glands, blockages formed by sebum and dead keratin skin cells at the base of the follicles in your skin, and the inflammation produced by the antibiotic resistant Propionibacterium acnes, or P. acnes bacterium.
Antibiotics are often prescribed as a treatment for severe acne, but the P. acnes bacterium has proven to have an in-vitro resistance to many of the antibiotics commonly used. A lot of the topical formulas that are available to you feature benzoyl peroxide for destroying the harmful bacterium in your skin, but this compound causes severe redness, irritation, drying, and flaking.
Let me bring up an issue of safety when it comes to the ingredients in the average acne treatment skin care formula, because they often contain potentially dangerous ingredients. Triclosan for example is an antibacterial agent commonly used to battle P. acnes, but triclosan is known to produce its own unique forms of antibiotic resistant bacteria. You could be out of the frying pan, and into the fire with this ingredient.
If triclosan were to come into contact with water it would release trihalomethanes, or THMS. Trihalomethanes are carcinogenic, and they can build up in the soft tissue of the body through repeated applications of a formula featuring triclosan as an ingredient. It can take up to six weeks or more for an acne medication to even begin to have a noticeable affect, and often long term use of these formulas is called for.
You want an acne treatment skin care formula that is as safe as it is effective, and a product that contains certain all natural ingredients is exactly what you need. Skin care formulas containing jojoba oil, Maracuja passion fruit extract, Babassu wax, Shea butter, and active Manuka honey are the answer to each of the physical issues that cause acne lesions to grow.
Make no mistake about it. An all natural acne treatment skin care that contains some or all of these compounds will eliminate your acne in the same amount of time the popular over the counter acne remedies take. The difference is that they do it safely, and with out irritating your skin. You should try such a product in order to alleviate your own acne.
