Vanilla Cleansing Did the movie Vanilla Sky slightly represent Tom Cruise's affiliation with the Church of Scientology?
About a year ago, I finally saw Vanilla Sky starring Tom Cruise. I know Cruise is affiliated with the Church of Scientology and after seeing that movie, I was convinced the movie represented a big part of Cruise's affiliation with scientology. In scientology, "auditing" is a process which includes moral cleansing, behavior modification, etc etc etc. I'm wondering if Vanilla Sky had that "auditing" process somewhere hidden between the big accident and the Lucid Dream....maybe even further? Then again... several years later, Paramount fired him, didn't they? What do u think?
Well, the movie's story wasn't created by either Cruise or Crowe. It was an almost scene-for-scene remake of the Spanish film "Abre los ojos". Perhaps Cruise saw something in that film which appealed to his interest in Scientology/spiritual matters and wanted to remake it.
