face is soooo oily!!!!!?
okay. i need help! im a 16 year old girl, and my face gets sooo oily, like ill be sitting down, and my face looks like im sweating!! i have been on acne medication prescribed by my derm for about a yr (tazorac&duac, both topical prescriptions, not pills) and i use mary kay velocity cleanser,blemish control toner,and velocity moisturizer. i dont know why my face is so oily but its gross! is it mary kay products thats causing this or the acne meds? help!
First of all, invest in a good toner. Clinique makes really good ones. I use Acne Free, and it comes with a good toner in the set. (You can get Acne Free at Target or any store like that) If you don't want to get a new toner, then put a bit of witch hazel (look in the drugstore) onto a cotton ball and rub it onto your face before putting on makeup. I'd also highly recommend using Clean & Clear Instant Oil-Absorbing Sheets (comes with 50 sheets per pack), which are small (you can carry them anywhere- purse, wallet, pocket...), and they really get the job done. Just pat them onto your face (don't rub- it ruins your makeup), and you can see the oil being soaked up onto the sheet. As a person who had a greasebomb face when I was younger, I truly swear by them. Also, if you wear foundation, try going without it for a day. Is your face noticeably less greasy? If so, then your makeup could be causing the oiliness, so you should try a new brand. The oiliness is usually caused by hormones (mine was), and it went away after a few years (I'm eighteen now). How fast does Mary Kay Velocity work?
How long did it take to clear up your skin? Please only from people who use it. I have been using it for about a week and i am seeing small results but i am hoping it will clear my skin up. I have the face cleanser and the daily moisturizer.
I have tried the cleanser and moisturizer. The moisturizer didn't do much to clear up my skin - moisturizers tend to break me out even worse. The cleanser works pretty good, but I prefer the #3 cleanser. It does a better job on my combination skin. I also like the #2 refresher toner. It helps keep the oil under control without that salisic acid. If you don't like the results, and you bought the product from a consultant (instead of ebay), you can return it for your money back or another product. My MK consultant has returned several things for me in the past. Now I know what I like best.
