my mother is filipino and she always uses whiting lotions or any other whiting products for over 10 years and now she's freaking pink-white and proud of it o__o;
i'm half filipino but i have lighter skin from my dads side who is white-Caucasian so i'm naturally white xD though i prefered my mom when she was tanned now she looks scary lol still pretty though xD
but from what i know they seem to want to be whiter because it was the "new thing" going on many years ago with stars/celebrities at the philipines who do the same and tell them they whiten themselves, they are very pale and now everyone copies them~
though not ALL, mainly its the older generations who do so, younger generations such as mines think it's absolutely stupid and ridicules, my full-filipino friends say they dont want to look like clowns
